Robert Schneider

Atmosphere is the most important aspect of landscape painting. In my work I try to capture not only the physical view but also that fleeting feeling of the moment. The cool stillness of a spring morning or the vibrant warmth of an autumn afternoon. I believe that the viewer should be drawn into a painting as if he or she could imagine actually being at that place at that time. An illusion of depth created on a flat canvas is, in my opinion, the hallmark of a successful composition.
